When someone buy a bjd doll, he/she usually gives not just a name, but also ‘implant’ a character and personality to that doll. It can be casual, sexy, nerdy, brave, and so on.
What I have learned so far, the characters we implant to the girl canĀ become alive. I mean, we can’t just give any dress to a doll and the doll would look good on it. We can’t just give whatever wig. It’s just by instinct that we feel that way.
Yet, as a bjd clothes maker, sometimes I just want to use my dolls regardless the character they have. This was the second time I was failed choosing the “bjd model” for bjd clothes I made.
My Narae n16 looks happy with casual dress rather than when wearing hanbok. Perhaps, some people see it as ok, no problem, yet, it still feels wrong for me to see it.
After playing dolls for years, I realize that in the end, owners are the one who enjoy the look and character of their doll. Thus, we just have to respect how others dressing up or face-up their dolls. BJD is actually a “blank-doll” and owners have their own imagination about that doll. Perhaps, what they do to their doll isn’t suitable with our taste and concept about the doll, yet…pay respect and if necessary buy your own doll and make it like you prefer.
